THE FIRST FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF PROUT

Sarkar: No individual should be allowed to accumulate any physical wealth without the clear permission or approval of the collective body……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… A person accumulating physical wealth without the permission of the collective body is certainly going against the interests of the collective body. This principle states that individual liberty should not go against the interests of the collective body. This may involve certain restrictions on individual liberty, but since the minimum requirements of life and special amenities will be guaranteed, this should not cause any difficulties to the people. ----------- …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. The minimum requirements mean food, clothing, shelter, medicine, education. Those who need more due to sickness or other reason, the special needs are provided by collective approval, as well as those meritorious and industries will get something extra. Collective body here means different sadvipra boards (righteous, rather spiritually minded people). So no limitless private ownership, and on the other hand; guarantee of basic needs - purchasing power - mainly through work. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. There has to be restrictions and ceiling for salary and property as the physical wealth is limited in this world (and human desires endless!). If accumulation is allowed those who already have lots are able to exploit and make more money, which will hamper the growth of economy as a whole. When there is accumulation of money into unutilized properties and stock markets, the flow of money becomes stagnant. Besides it creates division in society into rich and poor. Human value is degraded into animalistic behavior; prostitutes, addicts, criminals, pedophiles, terrorists etc. While the greediness and addiction to money makes human being mentally sick. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………… What comes to psychic and spiritual wealth one may accumulate knowledge and spiritual wisdom as much as one desires, but on the other hand it is good to share also the acquired knowledge, wisdom, etc. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. And I think psychic accumulation often leads also to physical accumulation and depriving others. For example if you get patent rights for something that you have invented with your advanced knowledge, and then that invention results to depriving basic needs of others although makes you tremendous amounts of money. You might still exploit the collective. Patent system might need to be demolished or what do you think? Alien free technology has been suppressed for centuries although it could have saved the earth from pollution and exploitation. What comes to spiritual wealth one should share it with others as well. Just taking care of own development and depriving others from spirituality might also cause ones downfall. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. So I would say, if you accumulate psychic or spiritual wealth that is not good also, although here while talking about economics, Sarkar mentions especially physical accumulation. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. What kind of means there could be for controlling the urge for accumulation? Physical needs can be converted to psychic and spiritual needs; by inspiring people to utilize their potentialities for something more subtle than material things. While limiting advertising - instead proper knowledge could be shared - or people to be inspired to enjoy rather psychic things and taking challenge of inventions for the welfare of all, arts etc. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. Service mindedness should be encouraged, because it brings satisfaction more healthy way than accumulation. But best thing is to teach meditation as it will take care of the proper development of human being and bring internal happiness. When one gains internal happiness and satisfaction, ones looses interest for accumulation of physical - materialistic things. So the future of humanity is bright as more and more people are doing meditation, and obviously have soon no interest for accumulation of money. Didi Annapurna
